Events in St.-Petersburg
15th Summer Ballet Season
From 8th of May till 22th of October
Concerts take place in Opera and Ballet Theater of St Petersburg's Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory. This jubilee season features performances by the St Petersburg?s State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after Yakobson and the Moscow State Theater «Russian Ballet».

In 2001 the known Petersburg dancer and ballet master Jury Petuhov headed theatre. Its arrival to theatre is marked by splash in new statements: for two years ballets «Color of a life» are already put on the stage, «Nutcracker», «The Italian capriccio», «Don Jose-passion on Carmen», etc. But a priority of theatre is a restoration, preservation and returning to the spectator of products of its founder — the greatest ballet master of XX century Leonid Yakobson.

The twenty years’ history of theatre «Russian ballet» has incorporated impressing victories of dancers over the international competitions, large personal and collective awards. Among them are «Gold ticket» — a symbol of hundred thousand the spectators who have visited theatre only for one tours. In the annals of theatre numerous prime-ministers, tour rounds, performances on the most prestigious stages of the world.
Outstanding masters of ballet — M. Esambaev, N. Pavlova, I. Liepa danced with troupe of theatre. Nowadays among soloists of troupe owners of honourable prizes and ranks laureate. Today «Russian ballet» with confidence can be named a star of Russian ballet art. Masterpieces of a classical heritage are included in repertoire of the Summer Ballet Season — «Swan Lake», «Chiselle» and «Sleeping beauty».
